I know! I’m sorry! I haven’t updated my blog in a while. I’ve been a busy bee. Let’s talk about what I’ve been up to over the past year.

Working Part Time at Station Casinos
I served as an intern on the social media team from June 3, 2024, to August 5, 2024. During the summer, I talked about how I wanted to stay on the team after the internship was over. I manifested my current reality. I am still working on the social media team to this day. My first anniversary with the company recently passed! I’m so blessed to have this opportunity.
As an intern, I helped the social media managers capture content and edit videos. I also helped recap the many news releases and press coverage we received each month. Once my internship was over and I began working part-time during the school year, I helped with various projects, such as the 30th Anniversary for Boulder Station. I created a mood board to show how I wanted the team members to be celebrated. The team ultimately went with my yearbook-style photoshoot, and our creative director made it look like the mall photos from the 1990s. Our team did such a wonderful job, and kudos to my coworker Nathaniel for being the lead on social media for Boulder Station and getting millions of views to the Instagram account.
Additionally, I managed the social media accounts for Red Rock Resort and Durango Resort for a period of time. From August until mid-November, I was in charge of assisting with editing videos and posting content while the team hired two new social media managers.
By Veterans Day, we finally had a full team, and I began creating content for Palace Station. I currently post videos 5-6 times a week on Instagram, Facebook, and X. In 6 months, I have completed my 2025 goal for Instagram follower growth. It’s incredible to see the growth I have created for the property. I continue to manage the Palace Station social media to this day. Linked below are three of my highest-performing reels for the property.

Our team also completed a pool photoshoot to highlight the cocktail servers who are working at Red Rock and GVR over the summer. I created a “Love Island” inspired mood board, and the property marketing team at Red Rock loved it. It’s amazing to see how my initial ideas have become a reality. My coworker Stacy made the vision become a reality, and she’s amazing at her job. Now, there are Love Island watch parties happening at Station Casino properties.
I’m forever grateful for this job, the amazing people I have met, and just how kind and welcoming Station Casinos has been.
AMA Presidency
Being the President of this AMAzing organization has always felt like a part-time job. Sometimes, it’s a full-time job, especially when important reports are due. My presidency has come to a close, but I’m so proud of how far we’ve come in the past two years.
I’m leaving the organization in great hands. The next co-presidents will lead it to even greater heights. That is what a good leader does: sets the club up for continued success and empowers people to see themselves as future leaders. Shout-out to Ramhae and Espen, who will be the best presidents ever. Also, a quick shoutout to Ethan, who is the President Elect for 2026. I felt so loved at the end of the semester. The three of them made a stole for me that said “With Joy.” It was the most thoughtful graduation gift that I will forever cherish.
UNLV AMA is a community, and I know it’s going to have even more of an impact on campus and within the Las Vegas Valley. Ethan, Espen, and Ramhae have big plans for the organization. I have no doubt that AMA will be the talk of the town!
I’ll never forget the late nights, winning Student Marketer of the Year in 2024, and seeing my professor win Advisor of the Year in 2025. Both regionally and nationally, UNLV AMA is recognized. I learned so much about myself and the type of leader I want to be in the future. It’s bittersweet for me to leave after all of the sweat and tears I put into the organization. But all the hard work did pay off, and I’ll be using the lessons I learned for a lifetime.

Law School Acceptance
I have been accepted to the William S. Boyd School of Law. I will be an incoming 1L this August 2025. My goal is to be the first lawyer in my family. I want to combine my interests in hospitality, marketing, and law into one fulfilling career. I know that is possible, and I see many media and IP attorneys in Vegas representing gaming and hospitality companies. I believe this is the avenue of law that I would like to pursue. I am challenging myself to be the best professional and person I can be. I’ve been doing a lot of research, reading, and learning this summer. But don’t worry. I am also getting a lot of rest, spending a lot of time with loved ones, and trying to have the best summer before I lock in for the next three years. I am grateful to already have a few law school mentors whom I have been going to for advice. As a first-generation law student, I am teaching myself how to excel, and I am learning along the way what is best for me.
Graduation
In all honesty, my graduation was bittersweet. I will miss all of the moments from the last four years. I’ve truly grown so much from the ages of 18 to 22. UNLV has shaped me into the person I am today. I hope I serve as a success story for all students going through college. I am a student of the public school system, born and raised in Las Vegas, who has truly made the most of every opportunity presented in front of me. You can still do incredibly well for yourself by going to a state/public university.
I am proud to be a UNLV Graduate and to be an incoming law student at the William S. Boyd School of Law. Life is just getting started for me, and I’m excited for the next chapter in my life. I’m in a state of gratitude for how lucky I am to pursue higher education, be intellectually stimulated, and be given the choice to pursue what my heart desires.
I also had so many people celebrate me, and I will never forget all the people who showed up for me on graduation day. Thank you to all the friends, family, and coworkers who celebrated me.

Hobbies
I learned how to make sourdough bread, and I have a mini garden in my house! I have also been prioritizing the gym, and I’m seeing great progress in my muscle growth. I can squat 135 lbs, and I can bench 95 lbs. These were my goals to reach by December 2025, and I have been able to accomplish them before the end of July 2025.
New York City and The Grand Canyon
I’ve had the great privilege to travel before law school begins. Station Casinos has been incredibly flexible with my schedule. I went to the Grand Canyon with my boyfriend, Gavin. I do not remember the last time I went dry camping, but it was an incredible experience. We hiked 10 miles. One of my goals for the year was to go to a national park, and I’m happy to cross that off my list.
I also had another goal of traveling to a state I’ve never been to before. I went to New York City from June 19 to June 22 with my friends Nicole and Markus. We visited our high school friends, and I was able to spend a lot of time with my best friend from college, Hieu. I will be making a scrapbook about my adventures in this city.

If you have reached this point in the blog, thank you for reading. You're a real one, and I hope you have a joyful day.
With joy,
Christen
