The American Marketing Association Conference

During my spring break in 2022, I went to Chicago! It was my first time in the city and I absolutely loved the experience. From the skyscrapers to the food, Chicago has a lot to offer.

Why you may ask? I was competing in the case competition, representing my school at the American Marketing Association International Career Conference (AMA ICC).

In Fall 2021, I was on a team of 15 people helping to write a marketing proposal. Amazon Prime Student was the sponsor for the case competition this year. Our goal was to increase subscriptions among Gen-Z students by 75% and have them engage more with features. And boy did we have the marketing plan for Prime Student! We were one of the top 11 finalists invited to present at the conference in Chicago!

The presentation team consisted of 5 people, including me. We spent the majority of our Spring semester preparing for our final presentation. We each put in 10+ hours of our own time each week meeting and working on the PowerPoint and script. I was the only freshman student on the team.

My teammates were a joy to work with and we all bonded while working on the presentation. Our hard work paid off! We placed top 3 in the nation for our marketing campaign. We addressed the case challenge and showed the judges the logical, data-driven way to increase subscriptions among college Gen-Z students. We proposed that Prime focus on marketing to students who piggyback off of parents' and friends' accounts, showing them the value of getting their own Prime Student subscription.

The UNLV American Marketing Association Chapter also placed as one of the top 10 chapters in the nation. I'm so proud of our organization and what we achieved at this year's conference.
